Dear Readers,

What a year!

I’m a brand new grandmother! Ellias Samuel Steep Forbes arrived on Planet Earth July 3rd.

My daughter Sam married a wonderful man, a brilliant scientist Neil Forbes, and his ninety-year-old grandparents came all the way from England to the wedding. How can they look so young?

Obviously the baby is a genius, because my son Josh is already teaching Ellias how to play the piano. Fortunately, his partner David continues to use his artistic skills to keep records of all these changes. I thank him for all the photos.

My husband Charley is meeting a milestone this year, too. He’s closing Musicall, his CD and record store, which he’s run on Nantucket for twenty-four years. Who knows what he’ll do next!

The fourth in my Hot Flash series, The Hot Flash Club Chills Out, came out this summer, and Hot Flash Holidays comes out this month in a handsome new paperback. I keep getting wonderful, poignant, and absolutely hilarious emails from women enjoying their own Hot Flash adventures,. How I wish we could all get together in one big room and eat chocolate and laugh!
